It is pretty normal that after we wear the hair system or toupee for a while, we start to notice buildups around the roots of the hair. They begin to get tangled up or slowly turn into a matted blob.
However, this does not necessarily mean the end of its lifespan. \
These hairpieces can still be restored. Just a gentle wash and leave it to air dry, then you’ll have the same hair system again.
Based on numerous hairstylists’ and users’ experiences, we will show you the most accurate way to untangle most skin, lace, or mono hair systems.
Combing
Comb the middle part of the hair first. Hold the hair around the area of the hair roots, start thinning from the hair, then comb the middle part of the hair.
Always be sure not to let the hair be pulled against the scalp. The comb or hairbrush doesn’t have to be wide-toothed, as long as the teeth gaps are not too narrow. Then comb the hair roots after combing the middle and tip of the hair.
Conditioner
Even apply a special hair system conditioner to the hair, and leave it on for about 10 minutes.
Draw a tub of water around 30-40 degrees Celsius. Put on the same hair conditioner. Lather the water till it bubbles up.
Soaking
Put the hair system into the water, with the underside of the base facing up, allowing it to soak for 5-6 minutes.
The water doesn’t have to be deep but should be sufficient to submerge the entire hair system.
Stroking
Then dip it out, with one hand grabbing the underside of the base (either lace or PU), the other hand stroking the hair from the middle to the tip, but don’t stroke around the roots yet.
Rinsing, conditioning, and comb
Rinse the hair system with tap water, wring it dry, apply the same hair conditioner again evenly (with conditioner on), and leave it for about 10 minutes.
Soak Again
Again, draw some fresh water around 30-40 degrees Celsius, put it in the same conditioner, and lather it till it bubbles.
Then soak the hair system again like last time, with the underside facing up, but leave it in water for 10 minutes this time.
Rinse the hair system again with running tap water, don’t have to rinse too clean, as long as it’s not too sticky.
Dry it up
Dry it with an absorbent towel, and comb the hair from the roots to the tip. Then squeeze some bio shampoo into your palm, evenly stroke the hair, then leave the hair system to air dry.
